Karley Armstrong - Class of 2026

Meet Karley Armstrong! A senior and cheerleader at Oskaloosa Senior High School.

We went out to Sundown Lake in Moravia, IA, which is a private lake. So it was definitely an honor to get the opportunity to shoot over there.

I always start with casual images. Just making the model feel comfortable in front of the camera, getting the lighting perfect, making sure the composition is on point, and in these images, you can see that’s exactly what I did!

She really liked this shed, so you know me. I framed her next to the shed, and we got a couple shots over there!

Leading Lines

I noticed the leading lines on the stairs leading up to the house, and I saw something interesting so I asked her to sit on the stairs, and look how awesome the images look!

The Canoe

Next is my favorite part. The part that Karley was looking forward to the most, and that’s shooting in the canoe. The scenery was so beautiful, and I love these shots!

Karley’s mom, Angela, sent me a TikTok of some senior pictures in a canoe, so I figured I would take the idea, and make it my own, and this is the results! Stunning!

Beautiful Scenery

Then next to the beautiful scenery of the water, I saw these rocks that I really like. So I asked Karley to sit on the rocks, and these images turned out amazing! She also got a few with the guitar!

The Boat

After we photographed on the rock, there’s a nice willow tree in the area. So we got on the boat and went over to the willow tree, but before that. She was sitting on the boat, and I saw something that I really liked.

We finally made it over to the willow tree on the canoe, and these images are some of my favorites from the whole session! I know there’s this new word floating around… “Aura”… Yeah. She got that! Her aura is fire for sure!

Golden Light

There were another set of rocks that I really liked, and the way the sun was shining, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to capture these stunning images! She’s literally glowing!

Of course she had a few outfits to change into, so Karley changed her outfit and we got this images over by the nice fence! These images? Aura. Karley’s aura is on another level!

Cheerleader! 📣

Like I said in the beginning, Karley is a cheerleader and she’s been a cheerleader throughout high school, so we went back to my studio, located in Ottumwa, IA. And we got some amazing images using the Pro Light Mods, cool colors, and smoke! The first pose I let her choose her favorite cheer pose, and the rest is history! She’s a star!

And that’s the story of Karley Armstrong’s senior session. It’s definitely up there in my top 5 senior sessions of all time! She brought it, and she slayed. Great job, Karley! I really enjoyed photographing you for a special moment in your life!

Karley said she wants to go to college for business. That’s a great choice, as it’s important to know the business side of things. I wish you the best in whatever you do, Karley!
